Probably the last five rupee coin to be issued was in British days when it was issued in gold. </p> <p>This coin is quite large and bulky in size. On the obverse, is the Ashoka Pillar above the numeral "5" indicating five rupees. The text "RUPEES" and "INDIA" occurs on the left.
